FunAdvice Advice from: katwoman http://www.funadvice.com/my/advice/katwoman ♥ go to www.marieclaire.com.for a virtual make-over. I'm Carol, aka katwoman. I'm 54 and live at the Eastern Carolina coast. I feel like I can give good advice because of my age and my experiences. I was married @ 15 and had my first child @ 16. I've been married 3 time and have 3 kids (who are all grown now). I also have a beautiful granddaughter. She will be 12 soon. I, also, ran away from home and was kicked out twice. It was a busy year. My family had lots of money but not lots of love. My parents and Grandparents are all deceased and I miss them. I was put in a Psychiatric ward by my family doctor and parents. The doctor was the crazy one. He passed out on our front lawn more than once and also wrecked a couple of cars on his way out. I am a recovering addict. I've had Cancer twice and had radiation & Chemotherapy. As a result of the radiation, I have COPD (Emphysema) as well as other illnesses. I went to Cosmetology school and passed the state board. I only practiced for a short time but I know a good bit about hair & make-up. I enjoy arts and crafts and love to paint in all kinds of medium. I draw portraits (people and animals). I love crafts and making something from nothing. I know something about animals. I worked at a Vet & I've always had pets. I'm Agnostic, so I'm open minded (or close-minded) when it comes to religion. I get my news from the Steve Colbert Report and the Daily Show.w/Jon Stewart I've been rich and I've been poor. I've done things that I don't want to mention here but it made me a stronger person. I am not ashamed of anything I've done because it was all a lesson in life and has made me who I am today. I have 3 brothers so I know a little about guy stuff, plus, when I wasn't married, I had a boyfriend all the time. Now, though, I haven't even had a date in 10 yrs. I don't get out much and most guys are turned off by women who are disabled. I grew up in the 60's.and I know something about music. Here's a stupid cliche but it's true 'I've been there and done that'. So, hopefully, I can give advice on almost anything. Maybe someday someone will come up with a better cliche. If you'd like a poem or song critiqued, just let me know. I will be very honest and I don't hold back. I don't thinks it's constructive to just compliment someone's work, in order to spare their feelings. See MySpace to find out more 'about me'. Thanks, Carol en-us Re: How do I make my cat drink water? Milk will cause diarrhea too. If that's all she will drink though, dilute it with water. Canned food is not good for cats. The best thing to feed them is dry Meow Mix. I haven't known a cat that doesn't like it. Please don't feed her anything that you know has mercury in it. If your Mom doesn't believe you about the mercury, then do research on the Internet, print it out (if you can) and show it to her. Your kitty is suffering and while you're guessing about what could be wrong with her, she is getting worse. Please get her to the Vet. If money is an issue, sometimes a Vet will work with you and let you make payments. Just let them know how sick she is. If they won't work with you, go to another one. My cat died in May. We didn't know what was wrong with him. He wasn't eating, was lethargic. He got an infection in his eye and it had to be removed. He also developed a limp and the Vet said he must have been fighting other cats outside. He got to the point where all he could do was lay on the floor. To make a long story short, he had Leukemia and had been suffering with pain. We had to have him put to sleep. I'm not a Vet but it sounds like it could be that or kidney problems. I know how it is to worry about them. It's heart breaking to see them sick. That's why you need to get her to the vet soon. katwoman Mon, 29 Sep 2008 10:56:56 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/how_do_i_make_my_cat_drink_water 555807 Re: Rock Band 2 What is 'Rock Band 2'? katwoman Mon, 29 Sep 2008 09:32:19 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/rock_band_2 555744 Re: How to get over this? I'm 54 years old and was shy a large part of my life. I, finally, had to just say to myself 'I don't care what people think' and you have to mean it. Sometimes it comes with time and sometimes it comes with things that happen in your life. Like, I found out I had Cancer in my late twenties. Suddenly, what people thought, was the last thing on my mind. Sometimes, it comes with time, like many things do unless we can find a way to change first. Hopefully, you won't have to wait until something drastic happens. katwoman Sat, 27 Sep 2008 12:55:17 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/how_to_get_over_this 552928 Re: What's with people on this website I think it is mostly because some of them are just young. There are probably some that are not real smart and some that are just fooling around. You know, it takes all kinds. katwoman Sun, 14 Sep 2008 20:17:23 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/what_s_with_people_on_this_website 533966 Re: homecoming!!! please help If you can't make a dress, you can always check out your local Salvation Army or Goodwill Thrift Stores. You'd be surprised at what you might find there and at a very inexpensive cost. katwoman Sun, 14 Sep 2008 20:13:47 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/homecoming_please_help_117008 533962 Re: Adopting a kitten I agree that you should adopt an older kitty. I would go to the local shelter. I'm not sure, but I don't think that the Humane Society euthanize's animals. The shelter usually puts them to sleep if not adopted in 2 weeks. I, also, agree with irrismith about getting one of the kitties that probably won't be picked by anyone else. If it were me, I would go for one that is 'NOT' the cutest. That poor guy would not have a chance, but you guys can save him. As for his name, a good way to pick a name is to go to thesaurus.com and put in words that describe your new kitty. You'd be surprised at the neat names you'll come up with. Good luck. =^u^= katwoman katwoman Sun, 14 Sep 2008 20:08:39 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/adopting_a_kitten 533958 Re: will she die? As someone mentioned above, it is probably something to do with her organs. I had Cancer and had to have my spleen removed. I am doing fine w/o it and that was about 30 years ago. Just be there for her and keep checking on her progress. katwoman Sun, 07 Sep 2008 21:14:16 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/will_she_die 522270 Re: period and pregnancy. I am post menopausal (54 years old) and no longer have my period, but I can tell you that you're not always going to be on time. There will be times when you are late w/o being pregnant. Of course, if after a few more days and just having light spotting, you should probably see your doctor. Something else could be going on like with your Thyroid. Just have it checked out. It's probably not anything to worry about. katwoman Sun, 07 Sep 2008 21:09:19 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/period_and_pregnancy_192069 522259 Re: My hair is impossible You should probably not dye your hair for a while if it is falling out. I was a Cosmetologist for years, but it's hard to tell what's going on without seeing your hair. I suggest that you go see a professional but I suspect you may have been using too many chemicals on your hair. If that's not the case, it could be a health matter. Anyway, have it checked out. Good luck to you. Carol katwoman Sun, 07 Sep 2008 21:01:50 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/my_hair_is_impossible 522247 Re: I miss my teacher I don't understand either. Do you think that your feelings for him could be deeper than a student/teacher relationship? What happened to the motivation? What happened to the words of encouragement he left behind? So, he has retired and he's gone on. Maybe you can be happy with the things he left behind, the things that he taught you. Sounds like he was a great teacher and he should be missed. Time will get you through it. Don't worry about how others feel about him. katwoman Sun, 07 Sep 2008 20:54:29 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/i_miss_my_teacher 522237 Re: anyone know a good job? It depends on what your skills are and your education. I would suggest that you stay in school. Now, if you are referring to a summer job, a lot of girls get babysitting jobs or working at a fast food restaurant. Not the best of jobs, but that's what school is all about. katwoman Sun, 07 Sep 2008 20:20:54 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/anyone_know_a_good_job 522174 Re: think that th world is actually going to end in 2012. Well, I guess we'll never know, will we? When it's over, it's over. No, no one can accurately predict the end. They could get lucky, I guess. katwoman Sun, 07 Sep 2008 20:13:27 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/2012_131126 522156 Re: does anybody want to bang tila tequila as much as I do? Okay, I'll bite. What is a tila Tequilla? Is it a banana or an alcoholic drink? And by bang, are you meaning intercourse? Just what are you referring to? Thnx, Carol katwoman Sun, 07 Sep 2008 20:09:34 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/woooaaahhh 522153 Re: Hair opinion Well, you can't really see your hair very good in that picture. But I say if you want a purple mohawk, go for it. =^u^= Kat katwoman Wed, 03 Sep 2008 22:49:45 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/hair_opinion 516419 Re: Do you think I can make it? I'm disabled too and I know what you mean about being treated differently. It's true and I don't understand it. Sometimes I think it's because it scares them. That being said, if you can really sing and especially if you have your own music, people will look over the wheelchair. Music soothes the savage beast and it does something for most of us. You have to know if you can sing or not. A lot of times people will tell you that you can do something just to make you feel better. They don't realize that it may hurt you in the long run. Maybe you could cut a record. Send it to a radio station (or whatever people do these days) and see if it sells first. Then go from there. =^u^= katwoman katwoman Wed, 03 Sep 2008 22:36:45 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/do_you_think_i_can_make_it_please 516402 Re: Whats the most offensive thing you can tell a women I would think the most offensive thing would be that she smells. katwoman Wed, 03 Sep 2008 21:55:53 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/just_for_fun_216596 516345 Re: What are some good baby sitting activities? It depends on their ages, but what about board games? You could read or tell stories to them or do games where you try to guess what someone is thinking. Like someone says 'I'm thinking of a certain candy bar? Then, people take turns guessing which one, hide and go seek. katwoman Sun, 17 Aug 2008 19:23:49 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/what_are_some_good_baby_sitting_activities 488029 Re: hating my job Well, what is it that you don't like? Is it the standing or maybe the repetition? Is it the having to deal with the customers? Are you going to school and planning on finishing? If you quit school to go to work, odds are that you will always work at places like the store. There are a lot of factors here. Is there a school counselor that you can talk to or some other professional? That may help. katwoman Sat, 16 Aug 2008 22:05:04 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/hating_my_job 486860 Re: self mutalation? It's pretty good, but there's a few times where the rhyme wasn't too good and the last verse could use some work. I don't like the way you ended all the sentences with 'it'. If you are going to rhyme, be sure to be consistent. kat =^u^= katwoman Sat, 09 Aug 2008 14:31:13 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/i_wrote_this_poem_what_do_you_think 474008 Re: What does it mean when my answer has a rating of 0 to 2? stephanie1987, LOL! That's wierd how you got 2 of 2 as helpful because there is only two of us and you can't rate yourself. Plus, I don't think I left a rating. Also, isn't there supposed to be a rating question under the question.? katwoman Mon, 04 Aug 2008 00:21:15 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/0_of_2 463715 Re: Do you rate your answers to your questions?
