FunAdvice UK Advice from: hourglassoflosttime

I am a Gothic Witch(sooner witch then Goth however)
I study a lot, mostly about mythology, religions, myths & legends, science, magick(spelt with a k to deceiver the different's between real magic & magic done my an illusionist). My fav. color is white, fav animal is the wolf.
Might I add that when I "ask a question", on this sight, I usually already know the answer & am just seeking ppls' opinions on things. hey, I'm a curios person & I'm curios on how & what ppl think.
If I need to know something I usually research it myself. if there is a time in which I ask a question & I do need to know the answer I will specify that. So if you stumble upon a question that you might be thinking "How in the F**CKING H*ll can this idiot ask this question?"(such as the Emo & Gothic 1) I'm not, I'm asking for your opinion.

to be...
In modern day I'ld say Ninjas
but if you're talking way back in the days
pirats hands down.
I live the ocean & I love sea food ^_^
Not to mention the thrill, excitement, danger, compitition, becomeing your own legacy, making your own rules(excluding of coarse the pritat code), sailing on the 7 seas,
the myths & legends, I could live with that.

Now if you're talking bout what a women wants,
me personally(though I am an odd ball no hidding it) I'ld say either or...
...or maybe a priat...
Ninjas...not like you could know, couldn't really trust them unless you woking with them, though they are clean & swift...
On the other hand a pirat can be trusted more, out & open...though they are a roudy bunch aren't they...
...hmmm...perhaps a ninja pirate
...a pinjat XD

Re: Define emo, why do some label themselves as emo?

OMG what the hel is wrong with people?
Look things up before you give advice if you don't know what it is!
Only few plp you answered were correct & only partially
I researched the subject a while back,
here's what I've gathered=>
From my recourses supposedly an Emo was originally just a slang word used to describe some bands that got emotional, originally fans of Fugazi, a post punk band, in mid 1980's. It later became a sub-genre. Most found it offensive & disliked being labeled Emo. The original Emo is what is now modern day screamo, there were 3 waves. I believe the second wave some how led to the third wave which is modern day. It was basically when new music was cropped under the labile Emo such as jeans. The style of Emo is most commonly long bangs fringe, brushed to the side, hair died black, thick glasses are also common, or was originally common in the style as well as plad shirts & such., it was only just recently(within the past few years) tight jeans were added into the style(boys & girls alike, it's not on common for men to wear girl jeans in this style). The style is less evolved from post punk than Goth in short I guess one could say. Also, during the third wave of Emo it became common for people to slit their selves to "fit in". How that works out I don't know. Note: not all Emo's slit themselves, it's just a thing so do to show or act emotional. & no, it is not a subculture, however, there is supposedly a movement in the process of making it a subculture, don't think it'll work out, & to be honest I kind of hope it doesn't. In my honest opinion Emo is not based on a solid foundation enough to say what exactly is & is not emo, specially when it comes to terms of music. The basis of emo has been changed twice except for the one basic Emo is Emotional is indeed short for emotional(if you don't believe me look it up). But when you think of it, how can one not be emotional when it comes to their music? Look at Cradle of Fith-their Dooms Metal, 69 Eyes- Romanti Goth, Amy Lee- Plasti Goth, & a lot other musicians. The only ones called Emo are the ones who dress the part. It's a combination of a subgenre of music & style & claiming to be emotional.

Re: What color eyeshadow would bring out blue eyes?

I have very pale blue eyes during the winter(almost white at times) & they get darker durring the spring.
& believe it or not, usually the darker the color the more it brings out your eyes.
Black usually brings it out very much.
or what you can do, depending on what shade of blue, is use black eyes liner & a dark deep red(maybe appel peal red) or purple shadow.
If you have a darker shade of blue use a lighter shade of blue, baby blue, you can use darker shade of blue, a deep blue. or you could use shades of grays or purples(same concept). Those are usually the best to bring out your beautiful blue eyes.

Re: Has anyone heard of Area 51?

Supposedly area 51 has aliens, yada yada,
but a secrete military base has been found there in which they test secrete military weapons,
satellites pictures revealed it.
Though videos have supposedly revealed alien ships & such, bodies have been found.
A lot of people suspect that the Egyptian had other worldly help building the pyramids, it would take constructions workers even with modern day technology 100 years at the least to build a pyramid, but the Egyptians had it built in 20 years. Another thing, archeologist uncovered ancient stone tablets describing the planets in ways only modern day technology has been able to uncover. There's a "scientific theory"about the Nebuki planet(planet X) & another planntet & how it came to form earth & how men evolved & why ever 3,500 years pl learn something & our fast evalotion, etc. comment me if your interested.
Though it is suspicious "Area 51 isn't real, but we'll shoot ya if you get to close", ...yeah, just like the holocaust didn't really happen(it did, legally it didn't, how stupid is that?). Also, the gov will tell you there's no such thing as aliens but it is an American law that if you come in contact with an alien species you will be fined 1,500 "Oh aliens don't exist but we'll fine you if you contact 1", dumb@$$e$.

Re: Why Do People Desire To Worship Satan (Evil) vs God (Good)?

Simple,
because they're idiots!
Any one who claims to worship Satin is just a stupid moron,
even if they are Satanist.
Believe it or not(not in defense of them, I dislike them myself) Satanist do not worship Satin.
They have no central figure of worship other than their self.
They're a would be religion founded by Anton Szandor LaVey's round the 1950's basically in rebellion of Christianity. They claim to be part of the occult(this boils my blood almost more than anything) yet they can't even call the holidays the their proper names, rather the Christian names. For example, the 2 most important holidays in the "religion" other than your one birthday are Walpurgisnacht (evening of April 30) and Halloween (evening of October 31), it's SAMHAIN & BELTANE, & BELTANE actually will vary from the 30th of April to the first of may from year to year for certain reasons. I don't know why they chose those to holidays to mock(because that's exactly what they're doing in my opinion) but it p*$$es me off because Samhain is the most important holiday of the year(let me know if your interested in knowing why) & Beltane is Hand fasting of the Lord & Lady! The magick they practice is would be Voodoo, Blood Magick, & Sex Magick, & supposedly some Healing Magick on the side.
Ohm here's something that's just precious " One white candle is placed to the right of the altar; it symbolizes the belief of Satanists in the hypocrisy of "White Magicians" and Wiccans because of the latter's insistence on avoiding doing harm to others". I don't see how Wiccans are the hypocrites, the practice what they preach. All TRUE occult practitioners know that whatever you send into the world will come back to you, whether the same amount, 3 fold, or 10 fold(which ever they believe, I believe the same amount & sometimes 3-10 fold depending on the situation, some tend to have a ripple effect you know), thus a lot pf practitioners will not harm others, especially those practitioners or the ones ho follow the Wiccan Rede & the Wiccan Rede states that do what you will but harm none, the 10 laws/rules of magick even say that(though I believe it may of been taken from the Rede). Though I guess it's not all bad, the highest crime is murder(especially of women & children). But still, it's nothing but a long term selfishness, hell, that's kinda what the symbol they use stand for. The pentagram upright(top point at the top) represents for all the elements(earth, air, fire, water, & spirit), spirit being at the top basically symbolizing spirituality over material matter. Invert it & you have material matter above the spirit, stupid aye? Here, this site can better explain it => http://www.themysticcorner.com/Pentagrams2.asp
Though as profane as the true Satanist are what's worse are the wannabes. The wannabe Satanist are the ones that'll commit murder & supposedly really worship Satan & sacrifice animals, yet they don't even know what the f*ck they're really doing=> http://www.gothicsubculture.com/articles/ritual.php (oh, & FYI, Goths are not Satanic either, only 33% are involved in the occult, most of them are of a biblical religion, I have yet to meet a true Goth that is a Satanist(let me know if you want to know what a Goth is, I'll send you an e-mail, it's a LONG explanation)). To learn more of the Satanic "religion" here's a link http://www.religioustolerance.org/satanis1.htm. To be blunt & honest I dislike both true Satanist & posers( though posers more), though, again, I'm all ears to any who feel like talking to me. No matter what I shall never except Satanist as part of the occult, hey didn't have to go through the hell the rest of the occult did & yet make a mockery of it & dare call those who choose to do magick for good hypocrites!, yeah I'm p*ssed. Good luck on your reading, I hope the links I gave you will help you better understand what they are. Again, I'm no where near defending their @$$e$, it's just one should know the truth before passing judgment.

Re: Why do preps pick on emo and goth people?

It's because we're different from the mainstream subculture/genre(a lot of people where I come from mistake them for the same exact thing, which really aggravates me)
people fear what is different &/or what they don't understand so to succer theirself they ricule it instead of trying to understand it.
I do admit, however, I do ridicule Emo from time to time(the stereotype Emo btw). Though the difference is I know what it's about how it got started, & what it is. I'm not too found of it. Though if someone is Emo & wants to talk to me I'm all ears. It's not the people I don't like, just the genre nor the Emo posers. a lot of the Emos down here claim Goth & Emo are the same(bs). Maybe that's why I'm not to found of the Emo Genre, all the ones down here in FL are dumn @$$ posers who don't even know about their own genre. The ones I meet online are pretty cool actually.

I'm part of the Gothic Subculture & & I'll crack jokkes of the Goth sterotype as well. I think it's funny how people view us & kind of get a kick out of it.

As for the preps & such, I have a few preppy friends, though I'm not to found of them. I had to deal with them in weightlifting. They didn't want to touch the bar becouse there was chalk on it, they couldn't sqat over 90, nor both of them could ever apot me, the men had to keep an eye on me so I wouldn't kill myself. I remember ever sense El school they were backstabbing manipulative people. I knew quite a few whom had children in middle school. A lot of them are idiots(least where I come from). They cheat off each other in English, I recall we were learning Native American myths & such in 11th grade, 1 blurted out "I thought all the Native Americans were extinct". Their idiots where I come from, so I wouldn't worry bout a thing those dumb@$$e$ say. Just look at them, laugh & walkaway.

Re: Why are so many christian rituals the same as pagan ones?

As iowagrrl2008 said,
& if you look, a lot of the bibl is borrowed things.
Like angels, bibical religouns "borroed" winged man becouse they thought they were "pretty".
So between borrowing & converting & such, that's why.
it's really not it's own religoun if yu ask me, just odds & ends of Jewish & some pagan(along with some egyption) & such, even the parts that weren't even put in the bible really. Not trying to sound mean, though I admit I'm not to found of that religoun. Though what bothers me most is Satanism, it's basily a rebelion against christainiy if you read through the rulse & laws of it.
Then again some Jews have simular things to the occult if you lok closely.
I'm rambling again

LOL

Emo

Also, during the third wave of Emo it became common for people to slit their selves to "fit in". How that works out I don't know. Note: not all Emo's slit themselves. The basis of emo has been changed twice except for the one basic Emo is Emotional. But when you think of it, how can one not be emotional when it comes to their music? Look at Cradle of Fith-their Dooms Metal, 69 Eyes- Romanti Goth, Amy Lee- Plasti Goth, & a lot other musicians. The only ones called Emo are the ones who dress the part-& as I stated, it was only just recently that the style was added to the genre, only a few years.

No way in F*CKING HELL do I think they're the same

Re: How to dress like a goth?

Goth is not a religion,
nor are there any set religion in the Gothic Subculture.

& it depends, do you know what Goth is?
Which Gothic style are you looking for?
Cyber, Victorian, Ether, Loli, Kandy, Renaissance, Bill-O-Goth, etc?
In respounse to hieno, wearing black doesn't make you Goth
...*Sigh*
hy do you want to know how to dress Goth?
