I was extremely pissy and yelled at my sister a lot. Then I started and it was very embarrassing because I went to a party and had to go home and change. Very embarrassing.

I was slightly embarassed because my mother kept saying: 'Oh, you are a big girl!'. Actually, I think it was more of a big deal for her than it was for me - it meant that she was getting older! I can identify with that now. I guess she was the age I am now.

It wasn't really a big deal for me.
Saw some blood, and thought, "Oh hey, well there it is."
No big deal.

my 1st period was when I was 10.
it was just brown spotting, not much of anything.
I knew about periods, but I didn't know that this was my 1st period.
it was actually my parents who noticed the spotting when washing my pants/clothes.
I wasn't embarassed.
I felt kinda grown-up.
I never told any friends/kids at school until I was about 12, when most others girls were starting.

mine was when I was 11 almost 12. I got it at home and I got really bad cramps. At school I had cramps and it sucked but luckily for my friends and me I didn't PMS so that was good. Otherwise nothing really embarrassing except for one time after a winter concert I was standing and sitting a lot and my 5th/6th period teacher gave me a lost sweatshirt to cover up with till I got home.

I was 12 and I cried to my mum because I was so scared I didn't fully understand what was happening even though I had learnt heaps about it, it's way different to learning it and actually experiencing it. But my mum got me gift which made me happy it was to celebrate my 'womanhood' lol
