What's wrong with my wow account?

When I enter my username and password it says it was successful, but then instead of loading my character list open it brings me to the choose realm page. Like I'm just setting my account up or something, only there's no realms to select. So I try my...

friends account which I know the passsword for, and the same thing happens. WHAT IS GOING ON?

Well to start how old are you?

did you not see that there are several realms undergoing maintenance today? look on that list to see if your's is. usually they do half of them on one day, and half on another. or sumtimes they just do them all at once.

Actually, the realms on the list today were all the ones NOT undergoing maintenance, and it was very few. They do maintenance every Tuesday from 7am PST to 11am PST. It's a weekly thing.
