Would it be possible to find birth parents in china?

Since I'm adopted from China since five turning six, I was wondering if it's possible to find my birth parents?
I was abandoned as a baby in China, I don't know anything about my birth parents. It would be interesting. I always wanted to find out about...

them since they pretty much gave me up because I'm female. I was an orphan in TY Juan. I've been thinking about looking them up since I was in my teens.
If possible, how could I look them up in the database?

maybe if you know the names you could go to peoplefinder because that can give you at least a little info on them like age,possible relatives,and where they might be currently living

Could you ask your adoptive parents for the name of the ophanage that you were placed at? Maybe on the papers from the ophanage are the names of your birth parents, or maybe with at least the name of the ophanage, you could contact them and get their names? Or at least your birth mother's name?

I know you must really want to contact with them, just know them a little...end that curiousity. Try and get their names, but once you have the names, really think about it. If you know FOR sure that they gave you up because you are female, do you want to really contact them? Do you think that when you speak to them, whatever they say, you will feel ok after. I just know a person who contacted his birth mother and was disappointed..he expected it to all go differently I guess, and I guess the who encounter is maybe something that is difficult to prepare for. In situations where you dont know what happened, and you just want to know what it was that made them have to give you up, I can almost see...but if you know...already..I feel like contacting them..might only hurt you in the end..if you expect more then they are willing to offer..
