Will anti-biotics make me gain weight?

Hello. im starting to eat anti-biotics very soon. But will it make me gain weight? Cause heard that some of the medicine will make people gain weight.

There are so many different types of antibiotics, it's hard to say. Most of them will not make you gain weight, as you usually only take them for a short period of time.

No, antibiotics will not cause real weight gain.

Broad spectrum antibiotics will kill beneficial bacteria in your system which can lead to temporary bloating but this will go away after your course of meds and your system returns to normal.

If you have a condition that requires antibiotics, they may cause water retention or "bloating" as filletofsplam mentioned, but the value of the antibiotic far outweighs any weight that you might temporarily put on. Most antibiotics don't, and doctors use those which are targeted towards your infection. If it is a broad spectrum antibiotic, any weight that is put on will quickly recede.
