Wiccan

A friend of mine practices Wiccan and is having a difficult time dealing due to her Southern Baptist parents wanting them to follow their beliefs . She is 22 and is afraid of being known as a devil worshiper by them she loves her family but doesnt want...

to stop practicing the craft any suggestions?

she is 22, does she still live at home? because then she can do whatever she wants! Or even if she is in a dorm, she can do whatever she wants. But if she is in her parents house, she needs to hide it. She can still practice but in secret. The sad thing is, if she tells them, they may kick her out, never speak to her, etc. Unless she thinks that they could come to accept her or at least tolerate it, her best bet is to keep it under wraps!

It's a tough situation. She knows her parents best. Does she think they'll shun or disown her if she reveals her beliefs? If they will, and she values her relationship with them, she might just want to keep quiet about it, as awful as that sounds. I've kept my thinking on religion from my parents for ten years. I'd like to be open and share that part of myself, but I value my relationship with them more.

I too would want any of my family, friends, acquientences to know this truth: the ONLY way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ (Salvation) - time may very well be short - none are guaranteed tomorrow.

what she practices is her choice, but "wiccan" is is a form of satan worship. no other way of putting it!

Wiccan is NOT a form of Satan worship. It's an earth based 'mother goddess' religion loosely based on similar ancient religions that are much older than Christianity or Judaism, and precede the invention of Satan as well.

Anyway, your friend has to decide between honesty and peace. There is probably no third choice. I always advise lying in situations like this. You are then free to do whatever you want, and the parents get to take comfort in the lies, even though they probably suspect them to be lies.

Wicca isnt satan worship. never has never will. Its the ignorance like that that messes things up. shes 22 and can do as she wishes. it sucks that her parents might not accept her. I couldn't imagin disowning my daughter no matter who she is.

Dont you realize that that kind of thinking is what causes Raceism, sexism, and all the other "ism"

Puglover - you seem to be the only person fighting. The other posts, pro and con, were quite respectful.

I would say to this friend that choosing God, or spirituality should be something personal. God gave us free will. My opinion is that all spiritual roads lead to Jesus Christ anyways. Did you know that there are more Christians living in China, (where there is no freedom of religion), than there are in the U.S.? I am not bragging because I believe if you honestly look at what Jesus was teaching, and see the life he lived here on earth, it sells it self. It is pure spiritual truth. Also I would say that when reviewing which spiritual road a person wants to take, not to disbar yourself from certain faiths because of prior contempt.

Here people have different views and opinions, sometimes you will find they dont agree with your views thats why we are here. if you cant handle that maybe you shouldn't be here.
