Why doesn't anyone smile in pictures anymore?

I do and I end up being the only one. I look so cheesy sometimes. I think a smile can be quite attractive.

Most people are 'too emo' to smile. Me personally, I just don't think I look good smiling unless it's devilish smirk. Right now I don't want to take a new picture so I took one of my older ones that showed off my golden shoulder skin. (It's the only perfect skin I know of I don't really see too much of my other skin... Like back and so on.)

Smiles are beautiful. Continue to do them as often as you can.
Also, when ever anyone asks me how I am, or how is my day going, I always tell them, 'fantastic' (spoken with a lot of upbeat.) It's amazing how many cashiers, co-workers, etc. break out of their workplace induced lethargy with a smile.

Hey, if that pic (your avitar) is really you, you have a great smile! Love it! People who don't smile in pictures are going to get discovered by the archaeologists, like, a hundred years from now, and the archaeologists will think this was an unhappy generation. I always smile for pix.

I try to smile for pictures, or pull a silly face- it lightens the mood I reckon! Most people are really critical of photos taken of them, and I'm one of them too to a certain extent. If I pull a silly face, I'm less worried about how it'll turn out.

I think it's not just because people are self conscious, but also partially because of this new wave of fashion models who never seem to smile. Add the new 'emo' look of 'I never smile', and you've got a while bunch of people who don't smile. It's sad, because smiles are such a great thing!
