Why does it smell down there?

doctor said I wasnt.he suggested I use birth control so I started the depo shot 2weeks ago.I was wondering if the depo shot could/would help with the vaginal odor?my doctor said it will help with th mood swings and hormonal prolems but when I asked about the odor he said I was fine.

The odor could be because of too much vaginal discharge. The shot might help if the hormones change the amount of discharge.

The smell could be from poor hygiene or even something as simple as wearing pants too tight or spandex underwear. (try cotton.)

Do you wear everyday panty liners? They help sometimes to keep the woofy fator at bay because its not on your underpants and mixing with sweat its on a liner and you can change them.

I dont know about the odor, but you should take the pill instead of depot provera shot, you'll gain weight, I did (40 pounds) and I know of some girls gaining as much as 90, ask your doctor about it, if hes honest hell tell ya.

Okay...Well pregnancy for sure does not give you a foul vaginal smell, and birth control shouldn't do that either. Now, I never heard of BC being used for funny smells. I think that you just might have a yeast infection. Buy some monistat 7 and wether its a yeast infection or not it should take any foul smell away. If the smells remains then you might have an STD. Try it, hopefully it's do you good. Try washing before and after sex to avoid any funny smells.
