Why do i have to call before i come to my husband's parents'?

my husband is staying overnight at his mom and dads place tonight while I am staying home. we are 60 miles apart tonight. I called him an hour ago and he was extremely intoxicated. when hanging up, I said I will see you tommorrow. he says ,be sure...

and call before you come. his folks are out of town and im wondering after 6 years of marriage why I have to call ahead . I asked him, why do I have to call ahead? he say , oh I want to know when you leave and when to expect you, just worried that something might happenif you are not here when you are supposed to be. I am not buying this. any advice?

I totally buy it. Most spouses would like to know when their loved ones are hitting the road so they will know when to expect them. He's probably looking forward to seeing you. Don't make a problem where there isn't one.

If you don't believe him you should just not call and leave earlier than he would expect you too and say you forgot to call! Surprise him with breakfast and if he is not doing anything wrong, he probably won't even remember that you didn't call! Don't ever be too trusting, if something doesn't feel right, it probably isn't!
