Me and my best friend are fighting really bad. I love her to death but she is so annoying. My grandma was in the hospital last week and at the time my best friend had her wedding reception. My grandma was going to have by-pass surgery so I called my best...

friend and left a message on her phone that I was gonnah be at the hospital because my grandma was going to have the surgery. The day of her reception she call my aunt and left a nasty message saying I ruin her recption and that I was screwed up...blah...blah...ect... I was always there for her no matter what. She was in and out of the hospital so many times for being anorexic and taking so many pills and almost die and I would wait in the room for weeks with her. But know she thinks she knows everything because she has a baby.. I just cant stand her right now I just want to tell her go to hell but I love her so much... She is so ungreatful. I have done everything for her... I know I am going on...and on... And on but what would you do??? Grandma.in critical conditon... Or reception of a best friend???

I'm sorry to be so harsh about this..
but what if (god forbid) your grandma dies when your at the reception?
how guilty would you feel?
if your friend was truly a friend, she would understand.
good luck on your desicion..

She was being insensitive and not a good friend - wrong not to contact you to find out the seriousness of the situation and to ensure you're ok - immature / selfish - you did the right thing notifying her you couldn't attend - hopefully, she'll come around and realize it and all works out - I wish you the best !!

I would pick family over friends any day. especially with something like this. You grandma needed you. it's really your friends fault she should have been more sensitive and asked you about your grandma and how she was doing instead of flipping out on you about the stupid wedding reception. I think she'll realize in time that she was wrong and call you to apologize. I hope your grandma is okay!!

You did the right thing. She did the wrong thing.

Well, the thing is, you shouldn't be faced with having to choose.

A good friend is understanding, and wouldn't put you in a situation that feels like you have to pick.

Maybe she was frustrated, okay, but she's obviously a bit selfish.
