If I wanted to play a Gamecube game on my Wii, do I need a separate Gamecube controller? Will the classic controller work?

yes the game cube games DO in fact work on wii, however not well, its best to just use your gamecube. My friend Eric uses this feature and I think you have to use the wii controller with it

If you want to remain wireless, go to an EB Games or a GameStop and buy a Nintendo WaveBird controller. It was the wireless controller which Nintendo made for the GameCube. Works like a champ. You can usually pick them up used for next to nothing.
