Seeing whether my lv bag is fake

Asked by tayana 2 months ago, 3 answers.

I was given a LV bag as a gift. The quality is excellent and I do not notice any signs that it might be a fake, except one. It's been over a year and the handles and trim did not turn honey color. They still remain pale beige. Is that a sure sign...

that the bag is fake?

I never heard the trim/piping thing turning colors before? But I found a site and these things seemed like good ways to check.

if the piping on the bag isnt leather, its fake, If the “LV” logo is upright on both sides, it might be a fake.
If it’s a new bag and the bag’s handle is a different color leather than that of the piping, it’s fake. If the dust cover has rounded edges and/or it doesn’t come with a dust cover, it’s fake.If the bag has a hanging tag (of any type) or a bright yellow tag or envelope, it’s definitely a fake.

in any case...

If you are having that much trouble trying to figure it out after a year...who cares if its real or not...no one is going to take it from you and investigate...plus it was a gift...so its not like you got ripped off...be happy you have a bag that is LV or looks so much like it that you couldnt tell the difference.

Having or buying a fake bag is a bigger deal than you or most people think. Everyone needs to know, since the knock-off industry started on designer bags(in replacement for drugs and guns because they make $$$ easier), there has been a major tax deprivation in the U.S. and buying fakes helps to contribute to it. I'm not exact on the numbers but I read in an elite fashion magazine article, $600 million dollars of tax loss a year due to fake luxury goods. Can you imagine what our country can do with that money??? It'll help the economy in some way or another. Everyone's main concern is not just whether THEY were ripped off, but the whole country was and is, and always will be if this continues.
