If you have a good area go for it but for God's sake and safety's sake do get complete protective gear and most important of all a small engine (cc) bike to begin with.

When I was a teen I drove a Yamaha 80 (only 80cc) bike for younger kids and it was some of the most fun I ever had (we lived in apts and the area behind me was sort of a plain grass field which fell into a ravine sort of thing)

Yes! Dirtbikes are awesome, my brother had one and we rode together all the time, it was so much fun. Just be carefull and wear a helmet
