What would happen if gore entered the race ?

If Al Gore were to enter the race 1) Would the media immediately portray him as the favorite and 2) What would happen ?

Sorry but when you say you invented the internet as he did once. I think all bets are off for him. I do believe he has something great going as far as saving the planet. As a person he is outstanding and so is his cause.

First off, if he were to enter the race, it would have to be as an independent. It is too late for him to compete for the Democratic nomination. While I think he would be a great president, I would be very upset if he did something like this. It would throw the whole election into complete turmoil, even more than it is already in. And mamk, he never said he "invented" the internet. That is a lie that the right wing has been spreading since before the 2000 election. What he said was that he "helped create" the internet. And that was absolutely true. We was one of the sponsers of the legislation that brought about the internet. He never used the word invent. Look it up.

If Gore entered the race as an independent, it would ensure a McCain victory. If he somehow ended up as the Democratic dark horse candidate (this is possible but very unlikely), I think he would win.

I agree it would ensure a McCain victory, and that is why I wouldn't want him to do it. I don't see how he could be a dark horse candidate at this time. Only if both Obama and Hillary both dropped out. And that is never going to happen.

I think the media would have a hay-day and a lot of people would make fun of him. That would be a really ridicuolous move.

Its too late for him to get the Democratic nomination and I can't see him running as a spoiler third party candidate. Gore could have been a solid candidate if he entered the race early.

Mamk, Gore never claimed to have invented the Internet. He did rightly claim credit for coauthoring the bill that allowed the then defence and research network to be used for commerce. As a senator Al Gore was one of the most technology aware lawmakers.
