go to an athletic store or running store where you live and ask the people that work there, they should be able to help you find the right running shoe for your feet. you'll also need to ask about what type of spikes to get if you're running long distance or short distance. the best brands are nike or asics
Ask your coach which shoes would be best for you. My college jogging instructor watched me run and noting I was a big pronator recommended several models she thought would be good for me.
New Balance makes some fine shoes but they make many models. Just because your current shoes aren't working out for you doesn't mean that another model won't.
I used to swear by Asics shoes but when I last tried them they weren't comfortable to me. Lately I've had good luck with New Balance and K-Swiss.
When I ran track cleats were provided, we just had to buy our training shoes.
