ummm I don't usually follow subcultures/stereotypes/lables... I'm just me. but I guess you'd say "I" am a goth/emo something like that.
and no... just because I said "emo" it doesn't mean I cut. just because somebody's "emo" doesn't make them a cutter. sorry, I know nobody said that, I just hate people who say stuff like that. it's so f*ckin stupid.
keirstinekate,
I don't really think there is a word that covers all those things to tell you the truth.
Like:
goth, prep, metal head... are lables, which are straight up childish.
christian, catholic... are your religion and beliefs.
single mom... the type of life that you may lead.
gamer,etc... things you enjoy doing.
Not at any point should these things be mixed all together. People shouldn't be defined by things like that. You are who you are no matter what 'label' you are... no matter what religion you follow... no matter what life you made for yourself... no matter what you like to do.

I asked because it is a writing assignment in my english college class, was just trying to get a feel. I am adopted, rocker, metal head, into tats and piercings, I am me as well, but truth is we all have different "layers" of subcultures that make us up. religion is a culture, catholic, christian, agnostic, all subcultures. Gamers is a culture, rpg, video games, board games, all subcultures. I am oldest child, that is a subculture. Cancer survivors is a subculture, anyone who likes the same things, can relate, like a "club" not always with a membership fee. ...I do not let my subculture define me, but we all have subcultures. Saying that labels are childish is not understanding that weather you define yourself by labels or not, society does, not good or bad, but they do. I am overweight, I do not let this define me, many people do.
