What are some clothing tips for guys?

I'm a college student and its taken me this long to realize that I have no idea how to dress myself. When it comes to matching, or having something that looks good, I'm totally clueless. What should I wear, and what kind of clothes do girls like on a...

guy? I could really use some helpful hints.

well, I don't exactly agree with antoninap because you should always try to be yourself and not a second rate version of others. I totally understand that you would like to dress better, and that is great.
my advice is to get some clothes that are casual and not too loud. for example get some blue jeans, but make sure they are not too tight which would make you look gay and make sure they are not too baggy which could make you look like you have an extremely big diaper on. Also get some polos or something. If you have time, you should probebly go to the mall and try on a couple sets. Look around the stores and see what you see most of and try it on because you never know.
I don't know about other girls, but I don't really mind what guys wear unless it is offley disturbing such as high socks, shorts etc.
