I think I got my crush a valentine bear and a box of chocolates tied to a heart balloon in 8th grade! It was really cute! Maybe you can use the same idea! 
A great way to give him something for valentines day is to get his locker combination and put a teddy bear, tied to a balloon, holding a card and a mini-box of chocolates and put it in his locker. he will be supprised and love it!
