Should I meet him in person alone?

I have been talking to this guy on msn that I was introduced to by a mate that knows him well.
we now really like each other and spend all our time talking to each other.
He is 1 year older than me.
I think that soon he is gunna start asking for us to me...

up, as he has hinted it a few times, I would like to meet up with him but he lives in Manchester and I live down here in Surrey which is many many miles away.
I know that they say if your gunna meet someone you should take someone with you but we would both prefer it to be just the two of us.
I really really really like him, I just want to know what you all think that I should do??

I think you should go with your friend/s to meet him first just to be safe and after you have both introduced eachother your friend/s can go off and do there own thing while you two get to better know eachother face - to - face. The reason they say if your going to meet someone you should take someone with you is so you can protect yourself if that person does'nt turn out who they really were, so be safe!
