Actually entering poetry contests is not that great of an idea. In doing that you give some of them the exclusive rights to your poems. The best thing I can say to do is send them to publishers. Expect to get lot's of rejections. Not because your poetry isn't good, but because it may not be the type they are interested in at the moment. Just keep trying and don't give up or get discouraged...Good luck.

Well yeah enter poetry comps like

http://www.poetry.com (thousand dollar prizes also lets you publish you own stuff in a book but you have to pay for it)

http://www.mattia.ca ( has a poetry competition on it)

Myspace (Xoxopublishing) they have comps every season check out there profile..

Well do what edgar allan poe use to do he'd write a poem and then 5 years later look back on it and change it if he can to make it better...basically just write a lot of poems put all of your good ones aside, and approach a publisher...if you need more advice im going to do the same thing so , fun mail or comment me.
