Depends on where you are going. For a daytime matinee of a Broadway show, a nice dress and heels will work. For church, dress up and celebrate the Lord's resurrection. For a high tea party, gloves of course, along with a nice spring suit and heels and purse. For a picnic, jeans and tee. To go street skating, shorts and a tee. To go scuba diving, a wetsuit (be sure to check the 02 level in that tank and your regulator!), fins, a waterproof watch, a mask and a shark stick. To go photographing birds in the Everglades, I would sugggest a good waterproof camera, snake boots and jeans, a t shirt and a hat and sun glasses. To attend a Nascar race, lots of sunscreen, a t-shirt with a)your favorite driver on it or b)anything with Dale Sr. on it (a moment of silence, please. He was, after all, the intimidator). To meet with a director for a part in his next movie, something casual, yet classy (Paris Hilton has this down to a t). For a family bar-b-que, shorts, sandals, a nice blouse (unless it's just plain folks, then cutoffs and a t-shirt and flip flops). If meeting General Petraeus to discuss Iraq, I would go with a smart business suit and make sure you know your stuff first because he doesn't have time for bs right now. To meet with Hillary or Barach, I would suggest something businesslike so they know you are serious about being there. For visitng grandma in the nursing home, it doesn't matter, she'll just be tickled to see you. To go to the movies, jeans and a long sleeve top (you know you'll be freezing halfway through if you wear short sleeves, and sneakers to protect your feet from the sticky God-only-knows what is on that floor. To hit the beach, sunscreen, shades, an unbrella, a good book or a good boy/girl friend, a radio and a towel, as well as some snacksand drinks. (Check the laws first on the beach you are going to, it may well be clothing optional and you may see more than you bargained for...don't ask, just trust me on this one). Also, conditioner for your hair, especially if you will be in a pool - the chlorine just does a number on your hair, so when you get out of the pool, rinse your hair and comb some conditioner through - and wear a hat - over-tanned skin is so yesterday.
