I noticed in your profile that you say you're a programmer. What's your favorite programming language? And, why?

The language I know best is C and I'm rather rusty at that. I worked a few years as a C programmer for UNIX and MSDOS. If I had to choose a language for a non-trivial program I'd have to fall back to scheme. Programs written in C tend to be much faster as well so that is a bonus.

As far as favorite language from a purely aesthetic point of view I'd have to say Scheme.

I've used Perl when I need to but I never liked it. I liked TCL better but it seems to no longer be used.

Lately I spend most of my time programming UNIX shell scripts.
