I'd say its because you go into shock...that happens to me a lot and I cant move...
You can ask your local doctor, but sometimes it can be a trance, or a sort of dream like state...

If you look up in google, I wouldnt say its a paranormal thing unless there are other symptoms, but that happens to me so yeah...well hope you find out but could be a shock like trance state!

You might have gone through sleep paralysis. I think thats definitely what you're going through at least. It's normal, nothing paranormal about it, so don't worry. It happens to lots of people.

I think it might be paranormal because my boyfriend told me that when he hugged me right after it happened the last time, he felt his whole arm ice cold on my side of the bed. Also, the last time it happened I wasnt trying to fight it when it happened right away, because I knew what was going to happen. So, I just laid there. But then, when it was going away, I did try to scream and move to tell my boyfriend what had happened, and then it came back as if it knew that I was trying to fight it.

That is the wierdest thing I've ever heard of? If it really worries you get a priest to come and bless your house and room. Im not that into the paranormal but it sounds freaky.

I agree with andyburton, if it is some sort of bacteria it could be dangerous for your health, if you dont go to a doctor you could become very sick...you need to stop worrying about paranormal at least long enought to go to the doctor...or until you realize paranormal doesnt really mean anything.

I remember sleeping and then falling in my dream and I felt this strange overwhelming feeling and I was awake but couldn't move my body. I think it might be sleep paralysis.

it could be sleep paralysis but it also sounds a bit like epilepsy because that is a classic sign of a simple partial epileptic fit, but really you should go to a doctor to get some tests and be diagnosed correctly.

Sounds like text book sleep paralysis. I have it and so do thousands of others. To be sure you can consult a sleep disorder clinic. Check that out before you set your mind on it being paranormal.
