What's with christian rock?

What's with christian rock? Don't christians think rock is evil?

if I did I would die!!! because that is a large part of what I listen to.

its just like rock music with Christian words. I can show you some examples if you want.

some Christians think it is evil because of its origins, but, I dont think that applies in this case.

I suppose the way I think of it is, if the people who are singing it are dedicated Christians and they really know what they are talking about and they do good things, and so on,etcetera, whatever, then obviously that music isnt evil or it would be having an effect on them, right?

I listen to rock music all the time and I'm a christian. I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

Well I'm a christian and I listen to As Iay Dieing. There not a Christian band but all 5 of there members are Christians.

I don't see any thing wrong with listening to Rock or any other genre. Just as long as there not using Gods name in vain or cussing.

Also is the song contains EXPLICIT lyrics or puts God down. Christians should not listen to it.

But There are Christian out there who seem to think that Rock takes there focus away from God.

Huh?! I'm Christian, and I LOVE rock. I listen to screamo and heavy metal and alternative and punk. It's the best genre out there. Not all Christians are superstrict and think everything is a sin. I have no idea where you got that "Christians think rock is evil" thing from...

heck no! I am Christian and I listen to Christian rock. its the meaning of the song that matters, not the type of music. I like to listen to 89.7 power fm. its Christian rock.

oh, I forgot to say, I do listen to other rock bands as long as they aren't expicit or cuss, and another thing- my (Christian) mum doesn't listen to it because it has a bad effect on her... don't ask what, cause I don't know thats all she said, but she has no problem with me listening to it, I think.
