What's the reason for satan to give temptations to people?

What's the reason for Satan to give temptations to people?
I know that allot of people get into temptations that aren't good and Satan is real good on getting people into trouble. So, what's your opinion on Satan's works as far as temptations?

My opinion, is that temptations have nothing to do with an invisible evil being named "Satan", and everything to do with ordinary instincts. People have invented this mythical Satan because they are unwilling to admit that we are animals.

Satans goal is to separate us from God. The separation is always on our part,not Gods.Toadaly is right , we do have god-given instincts. We as humans just tend to abuse these instincts, and I believe satan has his hand in giving us an environment to do this.

Both are right and I would like to add that God has given Satan power over human emotions, environments, and thoughts to test us. It is all a part of the plan of salvation. We need to be tested and proven worthy to be in his presence because no unclean thing can dwell in the presence of God. its not Satan tempting you... its your own natural instinct...

Satan is what people blame when they don't want to admit their own failings.

We are in school, down here.

Training for a lifetime of living in eternity with our Lord.

Heaven is a perfect place, however, rebellion was found there.

God uses the earth as training ground, for those who will be allowed into his heaven.

Once we pass thru this life...

if heaven is our destination,

then, the rebellious heart,

will not be able to enter in.

This is our testing ground.

Jesus said, if you love me, you will obey my commands.

That is where the rubber meets the road.

not to steep on any toes but how good can god truely be. he or she said in your bible I AM.If I AM means humanity we kill,we hate ,we rape and sin." there will be no god before me because I am a jealous god".Is not jalousie not a sin because god his it. is he not infallible meaning what? If I AM is true god is more fallible then man because creating a race of beings as weak as god is very fallible.
