The most important position in the band is the frontman, he's the one who's responsible for all speaking appearances and for keeping everyone cool and in order.

I would say the guitarist/vocalist. I mean, you can have songs without drums and a bass. But a song thats all drums and no other instruments? not so much...same with the bass.

I would say whoever is most talented, regardless of position, ends up defining the entire band.

guitarist but just saying that cause I play

singer is definately the most popular and credited but it is of the least importance...I play guitar, it has a lot of importance but it can only be placed 2nd most important position...bass most oftenly makes a song catchy but it would most likely be placed 3rd most important...so yes, I think the drum lube is most important, because you just simply cannot have a band without a drummer, they keep the beat, produce the energy and puts the instruments together...

the drummer in a band is like the glue in a bird house. The singer is the little post that holds the house up, the walls are the rythem guitarist, the hole of which the birds use as a door is the lead guitarist, and the roof is the bassist...together they are a beautiful bird house...but what good is it if there is no glue to hold the peices together...that's where a drummer comes in...(think on that =])
