What's the difference between Catholics and Latter-Day Saints?
I'm just curious to know the difference in my Religion which is Latter-Day Saints comparing Catholics.

Well for one thing, Catholics consider all ecumenical councils, creeds, and papal bulls and edicts to be sources of religious authority. Mormons do not. Also, Mormons do not believe the Bible, together with the Apocrypha, to be their most sacred text, while Catholics do not recognize the Book of Mormon or the Pearl of Great Price.

Catholics believe in the Trinity, or the triune God, of which Jesus Christ is considered a part. Mormons believe Jesus, like all humans, was at one time a purely spiritual being.

Catholics teach the doctrine of original sin, which most Mormons deny. Mormons don't believe humans are born sinful and must be reconciled from birth.

Mormons believe there is a chance after death for someone to be redeemed. Catholics believe that unsaved souls will perish in hell eternally, or rewarded in heaven. Also, Mormons believe in eventual resurrection of the body to be reunited with the purified, repentant spirit...Catholics don't believe this.

Catholics have seven sacraments, while Mormons have four. Mormon sacraments, as you probably know, are faith, repentance, baptism, and laying of the hands. The Catholic sacraments are baptism, confirmation, reconciliation, marriage, the eucharist, holy orders, and anointing of the sick.

There are other differences, and of course Mormons and Catholics have beliefs and teachings about each other. Traditionally, Mormons have seen the Catholic church as corrupt and in some cases, a tool of evil and deception. Catholics traditionally saw the Mormons as yet another renegade Protestant sect, or as a cult. In recent years, these teachings have mellowed somewhat.

The mormons believe the bible to be the word of god as far as it is translated correctly. for instance, in 1 SAMUEL 15:29 it reads: "The Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent." the strength of isreal is speaking of the lord. and 6 verses later 1 SAMUEL 15:35 it states: "The Lord repented that he had made Saul king over Israel" this would be an incorrect translation because the Bible is the word of God. God makes no mistakes just as it said in 1 samuel 15:29 he is not man he should not repent, he is perfect. therefore, he would not make mistakes. so that is one case in which it is translated incorrectly. there are others. The Mormons believe the bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. The reason why many get that confused with the mormons favoring the Book of Mormon or not using the bible is because the mormons believe the Book of Mormon to be 100% correct.

Another main contrast between the two religions is that the catholics believe the canon of revelation is closed. the mormons believe that modern revelation has and still does take place. Which is another topic which can clearly be seen. The catholics use the argument Revelation 22:18: “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of … this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.” But what they do not realize is that Of the entire corpus of 5,366 known Greek New Testament manuscripts, only 35 contain the whole New Testament as we now know it, and 34 of those were compiled after a.d. 1000. So virtually all scholars agree that rev. 22:18 was speaking only for that book of revelations. the common bible that the catholics used, had the majority of it compiled and added after they knew that verse to be true. Lastly Jesus spoke from his own tongue “My works are without end, and … my words … never cease.”
