What's the best way to get rid of a cold?

Asked by cupcakes999 8 months ago, 6 answers.

Yeah, I've had headaches, felt sick, sore throat, a cough, blocked nose etc.

Is there any way to get rid of it quickly? I'm going on holiday next week and I'd rather have it gone by then.

I've had it for around about 5 days I'd say, if that helps.

Ahh just chill out around the house
Don't go out in the cold much.
I'd suggest drinking Orange juice,or anything wiht high Vitamin C.It can help yur immune system a lot.
Hot drinks will help to clear your blocked nose, and so will soup.
But A clear soup, like Chicken Noodle.Nothing heavy like Clam Chowder or Beef Stew.
Just make sure you drink a lot of fluids, and stay hydrated.

I hope you feel better

Colds are caused by viruses so penicillin will not help. And taking antibiotics unnecessarily leads to antibiotic resistant bacteria and since antibiotics can kill beneficial bacteria they can cause other problems which makes it all the more important to take antibiotics only when you actually need them. Some doctors will prescribe antibiotics for cold patients so they can give them a prescription and push them out the door.

The truth is that most colds last about a week (though sometimes as little as 3 days or sometimes as long as 2 weeks). Try to stay as comfortable as possible and wait it out. Rest as much as you can and drink plenty of fluids. Assuming it is a common cold you should be feeling better in a few days.

drink as much water as humanly possible! (without killing yourself). it flushes a lot of the germs out causing the cold. within a day or two, you should be fine. just don't go out running or anything. rest and stay warm. if you are shivering at all, get warm.
