YAZ works well for that because it only has 4 of the pills where you are supposed to start your period (I don't know what to call them, but they are the last pills in the pack), and if you have been taking it for a while, you can skip those pills every 2 packs in a row, then on every third one take them and have a period! So, it's like you have one short period every 3 months! I love it!

Any BC pill can cause you to skip periods by simply continuously taking the active pills. See your doctor on this, although I have heard a well known doctor state that there is no health reason in having a period once a month.
