Well, bunnies are rodents too...but at least it won't give your mom the willies...I'm growing fonder of Guinea Pigs...they are truly affectionate, unlike hamsters...plus they are big enough to hold, and pet...
Oh...what about a ferret? They are charactors...and so fun to watch...plus they tame easily, and are more like having a cat...

my mum hates rodents, but me and my friend planned it out, to get me a hamster for my birthday, because my mum cant say no when its already bought and there.
also, one day I just showed up at home with a fancy rat without thinking twice about it... then realized that it was a bad idea.
but hes like 2 months old now and is very happy
