well we meet again yea.. so your parents dont want you 2 have a dog well I was the same thing I wanted a dog but instead I have 4 cats. your parents is probably thinking that you are not up 4 being responsible yet. I was 10 when I wanted a dog. then I figured out I wasnt responsible becuze all I did was hug and kissess but my parents said NO so I had 2 experience the barking the feeding the poop and the begggn so its your chioce 2 have a dog but you have to shw you parents that you are resposnible well good luck with that.
Before you get a dog and possibly find you are incompatible, ask yourself these questions:
What kind of excercise can I give it? (daily, weekly, almost never)
What kind of environment is it? (house, condo, apartment, etc.)
How long will it be alone everyday? (work, kids, school, etc)
Can I afford to take care of it (costs range from $50 to $500/month for some breeds)
When you get those answers, ask your local pet store/shelter/breeder what is best for you, and they will have answers that are so much better than this forum it isn't even funny.
Golden Retrievers and Labradors are generally pretty kind and friendly...(if you're looking for a larger dog)...If you're looking for smaller, Boston Terriers and Pugs are ultra friendly (but you have to be extra extra careful purchasing a Pug, because of the genetic screw ups)...Medium sized, Springer Spaniels always seem to have a smile on their face.
If all you're looking for is a "friendly" dog...go to the shelter, and check them out...there's hundreds to choose from...lots of mixed breeds are friendly...
If you are going to buy a dog...then you've got to check out the parents...what are their personalities like? Open and friendly? Suspicious...shy...these are good indicators of what the pups will be like.
