What is wrong with being emo?

Why do people think it is horriable to be emo? I don't get it. Just because you are emo dosent mean you are a bad person or you cut yourself. At my school if you say you are emo people hate you. That is stupid.

There isn't really anything wrong with being emo but some people have different opions about different things. Like they might think that emo is bad or something but that is there opinion and you shouldn't worry about what other people think... thats there opionion,

but then again a lot of people can be stupid. therell always be people who love you for it, therel always be people who hate you for it. you cant please everyone and you shouldnt try. and cutting is in its own catagory (self harm) but a lot of idiots dont know this, so they use the word as an insualt. dont pay any attention to them

its the same in our school im emo I dont think anythings wrong with it like I used 2 keep it a secret than my friend spread it(im not her friend anymore) now im getting bullied but I love emo

Well if you can answer why you consider yourself emo than I don't think it is a problem...

However, I find a lot of emo kids really insulting. I went through a really rough time for many years fighting severe depression and actually cut myself a lot...so to see these kids running around trying to fit in by "being sad" just makes me sick. It glorifies a serious mental illness that people are now taking very casually because emo kids are making it seem like a "trend." I cannot tell you how hurtful it is when people down-play my suffering because "emos" make depression into something it's not. Just remember that when you post pictures of yourself crying or whatnot. Not a lot of emo kids really know the agonizing pain that goes along with what they are portraying...

Real emo kids do not run around 'trying to be sad'. Although..the posers do.

emo stands for emotional and that usally means that you do weird things to youself to make your emotional pain go away
personally I dont think there are very many true emos your age, just posers

Nothing is wrongs with being emo!!! I know people that ask questions like well how do I be emo... and I hate that... emo dosent just mean that you cutt or anything... it can mean quite a few different things... so dont listen to people that call you emo... they just dont know the facts about it...
