Leather that has not been treated with the chemicals used to make brighter/darker... Tannings on Leather products, As in Belts, Chairs, Seats, Jackets, Boots, Etc...
Most leather is sent thought a process, that "Tans the hide" & maximizes the strength, pliability, looks & longevity of the article of clothing or material.
So, in other words, Untanned leather would be the exact opposite of this...
In that it would be considered 'More Natural' & untreated, thus could be more susceptible of ripping, tearing, becoming dirty & or scratched/scuffed & may not last as long as other "Tanned/Treated" Leathers...
At least, to the best of my knowledge this is the case...

Now, I have a little bit of an interactive Question for you...
How are these Leather items Treated?
And What is the most common treatment on it?
