What is the scariest thing that happen to you? I have a lot, but the most scariest one was when I got hit by a car. Trust me, it was pretty scare. Mainly, it was scary because I didn't see the truck, and he was going very fast.

When I was 18 I took a 3rd shift factory job. I would try to stay awake on the weekends and sleep through the night. One Friday night about 9:00p.m. I laid down on my bed and quickly went to sleep. What seemed like a few minutes later, I heard the television in the den on and my parents voices. I wasn't sure If I was dreaming or awake. Seconds later I could hear my parents discussing the news that they were watching, I realized that I was awake but paralyzed. I couldn't open my eyes. I couldn't sit up or move a muscle. I started to panic. I tried to yell for my parents, but again couldn't. I needed a deep breath and couldn't voluntarily take one. Minutes passed and I was worried. I thought that if I concentrated very hard on taking my right hand and slapping myself I could awaken. Within a minute a wave of energy seemingly passed through my body and I regained control of my movement. I went ahead and slapped myself for good measure. I sat up the rest of the night unable to find the nerve to go back to sleep. It all occurred over a five minute time frame but this was the longest five minutes I had ever spent. It has happened several times since, but now that I have a track record of coming out of It, it isn't as scary.

I was having major surgery & was having several surgeries done at the same time. I had Exploratory surgery, a Splenectomy, a Tubal Ligation (tubes tied), a C-Section (a baby), Liver Biopsy. That was scary enough but not the scariest thing. While I was under (put to sleep), I woke up (which is scarey too, but not the scariest. The scary thing was that when I awoke, I was paralized. I couldn't talk, I couldn't open my eyes or move at all and I was in excruciating pain. I could hear the doctors and nurses talking (can't remember what they were saying). Imagine...I'm laying on a table in a brightly lit room with my stomach cut approx. 10 inches long. Doctors were doing all these sugeries on me. I had nothing for pain and I can't tell them I'm awake. I think they could tell because I'm sure my pulse rate went up and my other stats too and they monitor those things when you're put to sleep. They had just not given me enough medicine to keep me asleep. I've had many other scary moments but this was the worst.
