What is the point??

what is the point here really?? I'm new and wondering what hapens. I mean you don't get best answers there is no points no levels. What is my motivation??

We are here to give our opinions not what you always want to hear.
Lots of people get help from here so I think you saying that the answers are not that great is wrong. Sometimes you get great answers and sometimes not so great but on the whole if you ask a question clearly you should get something to help.

It's something that we did have about ~5 years ago, but got lost in all the upgrades. At some point, I think we should add it back, as it's a common feature of a lot of forum type software, etc, which would make the site - in part, a bit more familiar to people.

The point is to give and receive advice.
Yeah, actually people do get some really good answers.
And there may not be points (thank goodness, I hate that idea), but there are answer ratings and thats just as good. So, you know if your answer was helpful.
