Whats the difference between a mono amp and a 2 channel amp in car audio? Can I run 2 subwoofers with a mono amplifier what will be the difference?

if you have 2 subwoofers with one input you can run them with a mono but my boyfriend said if your not sure what your donig be careful cause you can blow up your speakers or amp good luck

the difference is a mono amp is alredy bridge. you can hookup 2 sub's to the mono amp but whatch the impedance if the subs are 4ohms both will drop the amp to 2ohms & it can make a 100w amp in to a 200w amp & so on. & a mono amp will last longer than a 2ch amp because its made for sub's. I think your amp's wattage sud be 3/4 of what your sub's rms wattage is. & if your subs are dual voice coils it may drop the amp to 1ohms & it can burn it up if it cant handal it.
