well, I don't know, its diffierent with people.
Okay, so it's like a game where you walk around in "towns" with your characters and chat with other people around the world =) You buy your own house and clothes. You could do a lot of stuff on gaia. (I asked my cousin who played this)
-chat/ meet people/ meet friends
-games * that's one way to earn gaia gold *
- buy stuff with your gaia gold
-trade with other people
- build and decorate your own home / visit other people's homes
- decorate your profile page/visit other people's profiles
