A period is also called menstruation-a discharge of blood and mucus.
A period is when an egg gets released out of the ovarys(the sacs that hold the eggs) and if fertilized with a male sperm you have a baby.If not the egg cell gets released out of the vagina with the lining of the vagina and it gets rid of things your body doesn't need.

a period is a time where a girl gets blood stains on her underwear...its very normal & it means your healthy!!! it happens regularly about every month maybe more.
