What is a 'funny uncle' ?

Ok a funny uncle is like exactly the way it sounds. Most families have an uncle they refer to as the "funny uncle", or like "crazy uncle steve" or something like that. This is usually the uncle who is the most childlike...the uncle who is acting goofy, is fun to be around, etc. So depending on in what context you use the term, it could mean simply "that's my funny uncle steve". Also, on a TV show, or in a movie, or something like that, a "funny uncle" could be the person on the show who breaks up a serious moment by being funny. I don't know if you ever watch Seinfeld, but KRAMER would be an example of the funny uncle on that show.

Why do you need to know the term "funny uncle"...if you tell me, maybe I can help you undersand it better.

They were talking about how when they were young they werent allowed to play at their friends house b\c they had a "funny uncle"

In that case, a "Funny Uncle" would be an uncle who is reallly nice to kids, but whom you don't want to let your kids be alone with for too long, if you know what I mean...
