What's happened to the teens of today?

I mean growing up we did not do these things, teens are doing today , we went to grandmas house or hung out at the cousins house , we played music ,. or whole bunch neighbor kids would hang out ...

at our house ... These teens today want s*x and "Friends With Benefits" at the age of 12 to 17 years old ..What has Satan took over the minds of our kids of today? Where are the parents ? In a crack house or a bar getting loaded ? Don't parents care what their kids are doing ? Now wonder we have so much teen pregnancy , And No I am not bashing the teens , My heart goes out to you .

Not all teens are lumped into this category, but a good majority of them can be.
Recently in Troy, there was a group of teens who stole a car, had a gun with them and what they were doing was driving around and stopping, getting out and robbing pedestrians. Obviously the parents had no knowledge as to these kids whereabouts or what they were doing.
While my daughter was still under my roof and up until she graduated, I insisted on knowing where she was going, what she was going to be doing, a phone number where I could reach her and I would tell her what time she was to be home and if she was going to be late, she was to call me, which she would.
a lot of the s3x questions in this forum are coming from 12, 13, 14, 15 and even 16 year olds. If we answer these questions, I think it comes across to the person who asked the question that we are ok with their actions. As a parent, I would never condone my minor child to be involved in s3xual activity. Period.
My mother raised us to worry about finishing our education, then worry about s3x because the boys will always be there.
Kids of today need to reorganize their priorities and stop worrying about what everyone else thinks about them or what everyone is wearing or what everyone is doing.
Kids today are trying to be like everyone else and dress the same as everyone else and so forth.
Don't do what everyone else is doing.
Be yourself and dress how YOU feel like dressing. I swear to you that boys will have a great deal more respect for you, as a person, if you remain yourself, a unique individual.
Don't say things or do things or wear things because you think that others will like you as a friend. Most times that will backfire on you bigtime.
Just Be Yourself.

I agree with what has been said so far but I also think some of these kids should be watching the NBC TV Show called "To Catch a Predator".

I was wondering the same thing when seeing a lot of post(s) of pregnant teenage girls.. It saddens me .. I wish we were back in the 70's..lol or perhaps the 80's the generation is getting worse and worse...I hope it gets better...my heart goes out to all the struggles but most of them can be prevented no one needs a child at a young age or needs to put up with it.. and kids should be aware there's a lot of harmful diseases out there..no one is safe

I am a kid Stuck in this sad generation, but hey your generation was bad too it was sex and drugs was most of it hippies and what not =] hehe im not trying to turn this around but still you can't just blame this generation I think it's the music, and the style changes. But I agree wtf is wrong teenage girls barley halfway done with high school getting pregnant im a ashamed. but proud of who I am.

I thought I was free spirit in my teens but what my own children have admitted to shocks me... my children are in their early twenties now and settled in relationships but there is too much information available to them in magazines tv and on the internet... no matter how good a parent you are, once they leave your home you just don't know what they are doing... I gave my children leaflets on everything from testicular cancer, breast cancer to std's yet both my children had chlamydia and daughter got pregnant at 16... I even took them to the family planning clinic when they told me they were having sex... felt that it was best to do that than think that if I said NO SEX they would listen to me... the world is so scarey for parents now.

I completely understand what you're talking about, since I'm a teen of today:] and I just wanted to say that I completely agree with you and think it's ridiculous, but in the same breath, there's a lot of pressure out there for teens to have sex, and do drugs, among other things.

take me for example, I'm a good kid. I really am, I PROMISE!!! I'm in marching band, student council, I'm in honors classes and I make A's and B's. my parents are always there for me, and we're really close. BUT, I had sex. and I regret it. completely.

it's hard to be a teen, and it's had to say no, and to be accepted, it's just hard in general. I think the problem is we don't know what we're getting into, and we think we can take on the world;]

I just wanted to put it out there that we aren't all bad kids, that some of us just make big mistakes.

I'd say it's a change of mind. You were sitting at you grandmas house or at your house with a bunch of neighbor kids.. Years before that they were doing different .. and today we are also doing different. So probably in a few years.. we will be doing DIFFERENT.

u know what I know your not bashing us but I don't know about other teens but dont talk about are parents I mean serously some parents might might be like that or some parent give there teens room to breath but ther are also teens that sneak out and play bad girl for a change and that happens because yall dont give us room to breath!!!

What do you mean "the teens of today?" This stuff is certainly nothing new. Just because you were going to grandma's house does not mean everyone else was. Teens were having sex when I was growing up, they were having sex when my mother was growing up, and they were having sex when my grandmother was growing up. Teen pregnancy rates have actually dropped. Sounds like you should look into the statistics more before you try to make claims about this stuff.

I am just saying I'm a Teen of today and I do none of those thing you mentioned. Sure I case boys...but not for sexual reasons. Also I dont steal, drink or ,do drugs. I'm a teennager that likes fun and im disipointed that you would use the word ALL to clasify the teens. Only SOME of them do those things you listed...Next time get your facts strait.

I think they were teachingsex ed to early in school and I'm 17 and not that way but the girls are so easy that it makes you loose respect for them I mean realy so girls want to be easy some girls are easy because they think they can get a guy but if you ask any guy we just use and forget them now if its a girl thats the oppistie we become friends and take it slow but trust me like 12-17 age of sex and the reason for so many divorce is no one wants to marry a girl that had sex with to many guys or an anger women thats likely to cheat
