Please think of getting a rescue greyhound. The gentlest loving souls you could wish for. I live in an appartment, having rescued greys for nearly 30 years I now have a rescued sloughi (egyptian greyhound) and like the greys, do not need a lot of exercise and are happy just lounging about, going for a walk with you, when nesessary!!!
toy poodles are always great they are calm and really loveable and if you get a puppy they arent hard to care for as a puppy or when they get older you can really teach then things when they are a puppy and they never forget. we have one and we taught her how to sit but when she was a puppy you could nod your head 2 times and she will lay and she thinks its sit lol but shes really cute and they are adorable
When I lived in an appartment I got a papillion. Papillions are about the smartest and easiest to train of the toy breeds and they are really cute. They aren't real common so you might have to hunt for a breeder. My appartment had a patio where he could do his business while I was at work. I got a doggie door that fit into my window so he could go out when he needed to. I also owned a chihuahua but was never fully successful housetraining it. Chihuahua are so small they think that the other side of an apartment is far enough away to do their business; we had to block off half of the apartment with kiddie gates to keep our chihuahua from going inside. Chihuahua are also not good in cold weather so in the winter or when it rains they will not want to go out to void.

What dog to get?
I want to get a dog as a pet. I have a small apartment. What kind of dog would you suggest?
