Does my computer have a virus?

Whenever I get on my computer.. like at first it won't let me do anything except sign in on my YIM. Then like after a few hours or so, everything I clicked on earlier... it like pops back up. And it's super slow. A virus?
I can't restore it.. I had it...

updated into XP but I didn't get a restore disk, I suppose if I restore it with my old disk it'll turn back into 98. And that really sucks..
The computer has been like 9 years old. I changed the monitor because it broke.. it is time to change the main thing too?

How much free space does your hard drive have? It might be getting very full.

Try to defrag your hard drive(s) maybe run a disk cleanup. Also if you could post your computers spec might be able to tell you if it's getting too old, I mean 9 years is a long time for computers.
