Freedom to me means that I can log onto a website like this, or stand up in the middle of a public square, and talk about how much the government sucks without fearing arrest. It also means I have the choice of a different career and place of residence than my parents. And, like econsult says, the right to follow or not follow whatever religion I choose, and have that choice be respected in public institutions.

It means a lot of other things to me, too. But I am curious, why are you only polling Democrats? Do you expect us to say something like, "We support the Taliban, and we oppose American liberty and individualism and everything else Ayn Rand wrote about. Go communism!!"

Hmm lets see how about freedom from the government overseeing everything you do? A right to privacy is something the Bush administration does not seem to understand...

Freedom means:

1. Privacy
2. Do what I want to do in my own home so long as its not hurting my family
3. Freedom of religion
4. Freedom FROM religion
5. The expectation that I'll pick up the phone and talk to my buddies without someone else listening to the call.
6. The expectation that our gov will not lie to us

Finally, the freedom of not having to answer any more of your loaded questions :-)

Freedom..
To me, freedom means that I will be able to make my own choices ((like above)), and will never be forced to do anything. Not only that, there would be no limit to what I can do. But, the United States is not like that. We can't really do anything these days.
I should be able to own a gun and kill anyone I want. No, I should be able to own a sword and kill people.

I want the freedom to kill.
