When a baby boy is born the parents decide whether they want him circumsized or not - if they do, the tip gets cut. It *may* have to do with religion, but often doesn't.

When a male is born, he has a foreskin protecting his pen*s, it basically covers the head. When circumsized this skin is removed exposing the head. If the foreskin is not kept clean, it may become infected and have to be removed...that help?
