I've got a Couple Of Ideas..

basic chronic. This is a type of hydroponic marijuana, better than schwag but not as good as dank. Some say this stands for british columbia, but bud in the US is very seldom actually from there.

If a bunch of stoners mentioned BC then they were probalby talking about BC bud, and it does stand for british columbia because that is the province in Canada that the weed is grown in.
