I also think that the campaign thought they could squash the thing till after the election (they immediately dispatched many operatives to AK), probably in part because the alaska legislature is controlled by republicans. But I think the fact that she did buck heads with alaska republicans on ethics, their was no way they were going to let her get away with this.

But it does reflect extremely poorly on McCain's judgement and integrity, not to mention his brains.

Either she was not vetted very well (in which case shame on you McCain)
Or she was and they decided it wasn't important(again shame on McCain))
Or she knew, but didn't tell (shame on Palin)
Or the Alaskan legislature is packed with Dems - no wait, I just checked and both of the houses of state gov. are REPUBLICAN (Sen 11-9 and House 23-17)

I think that McCain's camp was so eager to get Palin that they didn't care about it. After all they were getting a woman to lure pizzed off Hilary supporters, AND an extreme radical anti-abortionist to bribe the religious Right-wingers. A package deal!!

LOL, bimjob. Personally, I think it bodes poorly for the American people, if McCain wins, as this shows poor judgement like nothing else.

I don't see how anyone would vote McCain and Palin into office now.

The woman abuses power.
So let's give her more...?

I'm afraid that Palin's getting "caught" abusing power says more about her smarts than her ethics...I doubt that many politicians haven't wielded their majic power wands at one time or another. Palin took on her own party, in AK...and that in itself would set her up for high level of scrutiny...ergo, a smart person would be so squeeky clean and open, there'd be little to find.

lol phrannie, then does the US really need a dumb person in power?

I personally think she is just kinda stupid,
I heard they spent 150,000$ on clothes for her to wear. I mean god that's a fricken house. Which is my problem with most polititions they have a marie antoinette complex were they can't possibly relate to the problems and day to day life of the common people. By Marie I of course mean that "let them eat cake" comment when her people ran out of bread.

Anyway I think Obama will probably win, but who knows.
