well, this is just what I think, I think I say "in Jesus name", because Jesus died(I know He is God in human form, but he's different and the same, at the same time)and the Bible says
"I am the way, the truth, and the Life, no man comes to the Father, but by me"
and I think that's why we pray in Jesus name, he's the only way into Heaven.
You can have doubt about your faith. I think everyone gets to the point where they have questions. Usually, when we are young, we are influenced by our parents. Some people go to chuch every Sunday. We don't think twice about it. God and Jesus exist and the only question might be 'Is God the father of Jesus?' My family didn't go to church but my Dad used to drive my grandmother there every Sunday. My grandfather (who was the Minister of her church) had passed away when I was 6 months old. Sometimes, I would go to church with her. She lived with us and, every night, before I went to sleep, she would have me say a prayer with her and bless everyone we knew.
I recall asking my Mom and my Dad, separately, who do we vote for? I thought that we were either Democrat or Republican. I guess I thought it was based on the their personality or maybe the doctrine was just passed down from their parents. I found out that neither of them would tell me who they voted for but I did know their religions. Moms father was a Baptist , so she was too and Dads father was a Methodist Minister so Dad was a Methodist. They claimed they didn't go to church because they couldn't agree on whos church to go to. So as you may guess, I didn't have a strong religious belief. Through the years, though, I searched for spirituality (not so much, religion) and I came to the conclusion that I really didn't believe in God. I'm a realist and I believe in truth and fact. I just couldn't go along with a God that could be so cruel. No one has ever come up with a good enough reason for the pain and suffering in this world. If he is so almighty, couldn't he stop it or, better yet, not start it?
There is only one thing that I believe in the bible and that's 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you', the golden rule. That's it. I think the rest of it is fiction. I believe that it was written to scare people. Otherwise, what would keep some people from killing? I could go on and on about religion but I'll probably start a ruckus (a noisy commotion, a heated controversy) from what I've already said.
I think that people have a right to their own beliefs & that there should be no reason for believers to get upset about it. After-all, Who am I hurting? How does my belief affect anyone else? To me it's like a personal choice like 'What is my favorite color?'. If I say it's green, will that make you angry? Probably not if you're Agnostic or an Atheist. Prove me wrong.
Jesus Christ causes many to stumble. He is the dividing line. Many believe in God... but, refuse to believe in Christ. The Jewish people are an example of this. Jesus came to his own, and they rejected him.
Unbelief is a spirit. I do not doubt my faith, but, I am attacked from time to time, by a spirit of unbelief, because I continually work on online boards, where unbelief is strong. It amazes me, when it comes, actually. And I have to wrestle with it, to rid myself of its effects. I really feel for those of you that are unsaved, because this spirit is powerful, and it does not want to let you go.
However, I believe in a God that can penetrate, that spirit, by the power of the Holy Spirit, I just urge you to not turn him away, when he comes. He is gentle, and easily entreated. He leads in a very gentle way. Satan pushes... and shoves... and drags.
God loves and leads.
I rebuke this spirit when it comes, in the name of Jesus. I bind its power over me, and command it to go, just as Jesus said to do. It will leave... however, it does come back. Just like a spoiled child, that will not mind. A perfect picture of how Satan operates.
Worship music, especially if it is annointed, will help to rid your atomsphere of spirits of doubt and unbelief. They can't stand in the presence of true worship of God. They have to flee. Also, praying in the spirit, helps, reading the bible helps tremendously, as it is annointed. Asking others to pray for you, helps. being in the right fellowship, is a great help.
We are in a constant warfare, and the closer we get to the second coming of Christ, the worse it will be. We need to be prayed up, at all times.

What do you do when you have doubts about faith?
Or do you even have doubts about your faith? If I'm to be honest, I am fully aware that there is a God, a Creator, a Supreme Being from which we all came. Where I stumble is with Jesus Christ. I am comfortable with the concept Jesus dying for my sins....
And I always pray 'in Jesus name', but I believe I do so more out of habit than out of a true understanding of Jesus place/purpose in my prayers. Why not just pray to God if They are one in the same? Is it wrong not to pray directly to Jesus? And lastly, what tools do you use when your faith is questionable/not as strong/diminishing?
