Black and white tiles or black and white carpet squares?

mum wants normal tho (as if hot pink is normal XP) so im still talking her into this

because I took the advice given to me and am painting my ceiling black and white checke board. so I want floor to match...

what would be cheaper?

I would guess tile, I've never heard of someone who would install checkerboard carpet

Tile is definitely cheaper long term, since carpet wears out fairly quickly (especially the white parts of the checkerboard). If you can find a checkerboard carpet, it might be cheaper than tile initially. If it has to be done custom, then it will be more expensive both initially and long term.

If you go the cheapest possible then tiles would be cheapest. Hands down.
a lot of factors come into place when asking such a question.
Labour for both items. Where do you want the tile or carpet?
