its really...imature...and I dont like it.
my qaaca (grandmother) told me a story about when she was down in mississippi, she took her parents into a restaurant to eat. and usually you just walk in, and go find a place to sit. so thats what they did. but the waitress came over and said "what are you doing?"
my gram said "well, we'd like to eat" and the waitress just looked at her and pointed toward the back of the restaurant, there was like, a room with curtains, and she said "you dont sit here, the blacks and indians sit back there"
so they just got up and left.

when she told me that story, it really hurt. to know they were treated like that. and that it still happens to many, minorities today. why cant we just give peace a chance?

It stinks...plain and simple... I think it gets fueled with the media... black on white issue... people who engage in racism don't have a lot of love... it's learned behavior. Maybe our churches can help tell a different story. since Jesus died on the cross for everyone..I don't think he was racist...

first off people need to know what racism actually is
just mentioning someone who is black, islamic, asian, white ect isnt racist
its when you mention it in a negative way
I agree there is a lot of it in the world today
because a lot of people still dont realise were all human and were not all ment to be and look the same
but its not something thats going to go away, because too many people do it
the best thing to do is to not take it to heart
everyone should be proud of who they are and shouldnt listen to people who dont matter in there life
there will alwayts be people who are racist,
just as much as therell always be people who arnt

Few people will admit to racism or publicly defend racism but the truth is that most people are racist to a certain extent.

I can't always fault people for their racism, people who grew up when it was a widely held view often can't get past it now. I see this sort of racism as ignorance. Lots of otherwise honest, conscientious, hard working folks are like this because they are the product of their upbringing. I still see this as problematic but since it was the way they were raised I don't see this as a personal failing but rather a societal one. I was talking to one elderly woman about Obama. She said that she had voted Democrat her whole life but couldn't bring herself to vote for a black man. I asked her why and she said that if a black man got into office than he would change our country so white people worked for black people instead of how it is now where black people work for white. Not able to hid my emotions she asked me why I was looking at her like she was crazy; I told her that what she was saying was crazy talk. She pursed her lips and said, just wait and see what happens when Obama is elected.

Another sort of racism is subtle racism. Most people harbor at least some of this more subtle racism even if they loudly proclaim themselves not to be racist. It might be a boss that gives white employees a benefit of the doubt but assumes his black employees are dishonest until they prove themselves. It might be the person who wouldn't give a second thought to a white person walking behind them but when the person behind them is black imagines they are a mugger or rapist. This sort of racism can be as little as a slightly different perception of people and not be something actionable. In a way this flavor of racism is more insidious because it is more pevasive and more difficult to address.

racism is just horrible]:
I am in love with a guy, and he's "black" [is that offensive? sorry if you think it is] and I am "white" [once again sorry if you take offense] and he loves me back, but some of my friends are telling me dating an african american guy in high school is bad news.
I agree with you...]:

Skadewshh don't worry, what you said is not offensive.
and I think its completely beautiful that you have a black boyfriend, when it comes to love there is no color, love is blind, and people of different races, and ethnicity that date, just make the world even more powerful.
I hope you enjoy life with him

I had a (ex) friend who was dating a black guy and her mom told her she couldn't. And when she asked her mom why she couldn't, her mom said. "Do you want people staring at you when you walk in a room? You know what they'll say about you!?" Now I know what she thinks when my parents walk into a room.

Racism is just ignorance.
Well in her moms case she was just a bigot.
I'm so glad I don't hangout with her anymore.
